Take Two

PictureOkay since I cheated this morning I thought I would do another post today… I was not sure if this would classify as “Joyous” so I actually looked up the word in the good ole’ Websters… “feeling, causing, or showing great happiness”.  So I think that this picture qualifies.
For my birthday I always get birthday money from my father.  I always spend it on myself but it usually is something that I have had my eye on for the house.  Last year was the first year that I actually spent the money solely for myself, I bought myself some new shoes.  Well, this year I have been struggling with not wanting to buy clothes for myself.  I know that if I can loose two maybe three sizes I have a box full of clothes.  Let’s be honest here, don’t we all have a box somewhere of those “oh, some day” clothes?  Okay, maybe not, maybe it is just me.  However, I have been feeling rather frustrated that I only have three pairs of pants, one pair of jeans, one pair of khaki and one pair of corduroy… Most of my shirts are just maternity shirts that I have kept around.  Sad state of affairs if you ask me.
Being a stay at home mom I struggle with spending money on myself.  I am not actually contributing to the family bank account so why should I take from it for myself.  I know that my hubby wouldn’t mind if I spent a little for myself here and there but I really just try not to.
So, with my birthday money in my account I decided to head to the local Goodwill.  Being inspired by my sister in law who always finds great things I went with a positive attitude.  I made sure that the two brothers I had with me were fed and happy and then was on a mission.  I walked away from there spending $55 and I got two pairs of jeans, a sweater, five shirts, a puff vest and a pair of shoes!  Pretty good if I do say so myself!  So a little sense of victory and joy bubble inside me now as I have everything in the wash and should be able to sport some “new” clothes tomorrow.
