Where is the time going? I remember when I was younger the years crawled by, I can see that in my kids eyes now… I find myself saying the very same thing that grown ups used to say to me that would frustrate my young mind, “Oh just you wait, once you get older time will fly by, enjoy the time.”
This past week was kind of crazy and I am having a feeling that I will feel the same way come this week as well. Last week, Zeke had Monday off from school but had his evaluations, Ki had his open house so we went to that for a few hours, Riah had his speech evaluations which took a whooping two hours, no one napped, and I had a steering meeting that night. That was just my Monday! The rest of the week was our “normal crazy”. Starting off the week with a doozy only set off the rest of the week a little off.
This week the boys have Monday off… so another four day week for Zeke, that makes it three weeks of four day school weeks. Tuesday the boys will begin Awanas in the evening, they are excited about it… to be honest I am kind of happy too. Tuesday nights Michael has school so I will just have Riah which means I will be able to keep the house quieter for Michael’s sake.
Zeke is loving soccer! He started three weeks ago. Practices are on Friday for an hour and then Saturday are his games. The fact that we have soccer makes the weekends a little more bearable for Zeke. He loves going to school and then with soccer he has yet another social outlet. It is rather fun watching him at the games, he is very passionate, some may call it skills, some may call it ball hogging, I choose to say “passionate”!
My little Riah bug has come down with a little school germ infestation compliments of his brothers. I was thinking it was just two year old molars, those are coming in too but now I have three school germy boys. I keep reminding myself that we are building immunities for the rest of their lives… right? UGH!
So far a nice weekend here… Michael’s truck broke down on Wednesday so Thursday he only worked a half a day and has been home ever since. It has been nice to have him around especially with the school germs and boys not feeling all well, I have not been tied to the house. Hope that you are enjoying your long weekend as well!
