Yesterday the hubby called me around ten and asked what I was up to. I simply said that I was trying not to melt. Our swamp cooler went on the fritz on Tuesday and the weather this week was supposed to range in the high nineties even in to a hundred. Phew, HOT! Hubby suggested that the boys and I take a road trip and head out to visit him. Hubby has a job south of where we live and has been working a lot, usually leaving Sunday afternoon and not getting home until Thursday late night. My initial thought to the invitation was thanks but no thanks… a four hour drive with our boys to get into town and hang out in a hotel while hubby works. I had mentioned something to a friend that was over for a play date and big brother overheard me. Big brother was too excited about a possible road trip that I couldn’t turn back. Our friends left our house around noon, I spent the next thirty minutes packing and closing up the house and making sure chickie chicks would be okay. Then we were off! I grabbed lunch on the road and got into town around five. Passed hubby on the road as he was working and found a park to play at.

Hubby got done with work around seven then we went to dinner. After dinner the boys all climbed into the blow up bed and went to sleep.

This morning we woke up had breakfast and then we decided to take an adventure.
We found a gator farm to go to. The boys had a blast! Big brother got to hold a one year old gator. We got to watch gator wrestling, don’t think it is mean… when they bring up the gators out of the water they check them over, if there are cuts the clean it and them medicate it. After a few hours at the gator farm we headed back home. A four hour trip turned into five hours thanks to road construction. We got into town and were greeted with 102 temperatures! UGH! Got home to the inside temp being 92. I got everything unpacked and then spent a few hours watering our yard… only now we are having a huge storm and all that watering and time was wasted. Hate it… but also love it! All in all a great last minute road trip, the boys did great on the drive, we got to spend some time with daddy and we all survived!
