Red

Day three of the Photo a Day Challenge.  There was one simple word on the description today… Red.
Red is not a favorite color of mine.  Although big brother loves the color red, I think… well, actually I know it steams from his young love for Lighting McQueen.  He thinks that red cars are the fastest, in fact if we are driving down the highway and we happen to pass a red car I get a, “Way to go mom, you passed a red car!”  Red is too much of a loud color for me preference.  When I think of the color red, I think of red lipstick, red sports cars, and both of those scream loud!
When I looked through the list of photos on the challenge I was stumped on what I was going to photograph that was red… well the one thing that is red that I love to see in my mail box is a Netflix envelope.  They are bright and cheery and they are my little hour and a half reprieve from the world of boys… how you might ask!?!  Well, the hubby and I both get one disk sent to us, he usually picks the newest Sci-Fi movie and I on the other hand usually pick a chick flick, complete with the promise of tears, love stories, dancing, and a cheesey ending.  The hubby and I have talked about foregoing the red envelope and just stick with the instant, however the streaming videos are sorely lacking in new variety so until that changes I will be greeted by that bright red envelope in my mail box.
