Antique Silverware

img_8171 img_8172 img_8173 img_8177Back in June I had mentioned that my mother had brought me some of my great grandma’s silverware and I had cleaned it up.  I have been searching for frames since then.  I was determined to buy some shadow boxes and them mount them in there.  I have been pricing those frames between Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, JoAnne’s and online – I could not shallow spending $15 for one frame when I was wanting three.  Today I decided on a whim to head to the Goodwill and low and behold I found three frames that would work!  The frames were $2 a piece and needed some spray paint love, but I was game!  I removed the hideous etched mirrors that were in the frames and set out to paint.  I bought some Krylon Heritage White and sprayed down the frames.  I added some fabric that I had laying around for the back and then secured the silverware with some Command strips and whala!  I have added some color to my walls, I have used some family silverware and I only spent $11 for three frames and spray paint – My kind of art!
