Banyan Tree 2012 – Lake Tahoe

We went on vacation last week for our biannual family reunion (my mom’s side of the family).  It was so nice to get away.  With as much as Michael has been working, since we got out here we are on a biannual family vacation schedule.  This year the reunion was in Tahoe, California – a two days drive for us but we made the best of the long drive… two days to drive there, three days to visit family and take in the area and then two days drive back home.  I took a few pictures… like no duh!  Hope that you enjoy our vacation through some of the pictures.  Can’t wait until 2014… we are hosting the reunion here in Colorado, not exactly sure where but somewhere!

After the first day of driving Michael pulled into a rest stop around midnight to sleep… when we woke up the next morning we were greeted by this view. A sunrise over the Salt Flats.

This picture of my little man looks like so many of my baby pictures. Love him so much!

This quiet possibly might be my all time favorite picture of my Ki guy!

Day two of driving… at this point I think we only had four more hours in the car. We were all getting a little antsy.

What CA vacation would be complete without following the yellow arrow?

Ki was so excited to have that hamburger.

Riah earned the nick name “Pig Pen” while on vacation. That child often had to have an afternoon shower because the dirt was so caked on him. He had a blast… my laundry loads when I came back all had to be stain treated – isn’t that what camping vacations are all about?

See, I told you there was a mister to my misses. Michael got in on the horse shoe tournament and had a fun time.

Riah was afraid there was a picture being taken without him… so he decided to jump in on the fun too. I wish I would have gotten Zeke in on it too.

Picture

What explanation can I really give? Yes, that is my dad and uncle wearing life vests and cones on their heads. It’s family… what more can be said!

My four men! I love these pictures. Daddy hold the hands of his boys… oh yeah and Riah on his back in the carrier.

Michael took us on an off trail hike up Eagle Falls. I think my children might be part billy goat.
