Can it be?!?!

5405216I was beginning to think that our chickens were duds!  Actually let me back up a little… so the two chickens that we got on father’s day after we thought we were down to one chicken both turned out to be roosters!  I contacted the farm that we got them from and took them back there.  The first one went the 24th because he found his voice, then after he left the other one found his voice and so he went on the 31st.  I was thinking that we were doomed to be eggless and just have to deal with roosters.  Our AmberWhite Chickens turned 22 weeks old on Friday and from everything that I read I found that most pullets lay between 16 and 21 weeks old.  Here we were at 22 weeks old and I had a conversation with the hubby just this afternoon… “If these chickens don’t start laying then I am done!”  As I was putting them to bed for the night I found this little gem!  To say that I was excited would be an understatement!  So now we know that we have at least one layer, I have not caught her in the act so I am not sure which one is laying either way, at least we are getting eggs!
