Fall Crafts

2955655 9026417Let me begin this post by noting that I am not a crafty mother.  You know those moms that are always doing fun little crafts with their kids… yep, not me!  Today was one of the very rare days that I decided to be crafty with the boys.  With the beautiful fall weather I was feeling inspired one might say.  The boys and I took a walk and we gathered fall leafs from around our neighborhood.  I had intentions of making a fall leaf jar for candles… needless to say that was a little too messy for this non-crafty mom.  The boys had fun collecting the leafs and then doing the art projects.  The mess was pretty minimal and therefore this mommy was okay with craft day!
This first project is Leaf Stained Glass… we just collected the leafs and then sandwiched them between clear contact paper.  This one is little brother’s, not too shabby!
The second project we did was Leaf rubbings.  Both of the boys loved it… I will say that middle brother had a harder time getting the idea of rubbing the crayon he wanted to push too hard and was not getting the leaf impression coming through.  Once I gave him one of the crayons we made that is small and flat he them got the hang of it.
