Guess What?

3103056Chicken Butt!  LOL!  Okay so maybe it is not that funny.  Chicken butts are the topic of conversation here.  I have gone back and forth thinking that I had a rooster on my hands and now that our chickens are sixteen weeks old I can say without a doubt that I have a rooster.  I will say that we have yet to get an egg or a crow from anyone but something are just pretty evident.  There are our two Rhode Island Reds side by side… as you can see the chicken on the left is a rooster, he is taller than the hen, has those pretty tail feathers and his neck feathers are more pointed.  So our Rosey, turned out to be a Ross.  Violet is not a Victor which big brother was very happy about since she is his chickie chick.  I contacted the hatchery that we got them from and he agreed to take him back.  So Ross the rooster will be going back to his birth place this weekend.  Kind of sad that he will be leaving but glad to know that he will be going to a safe place.  After this weekend we will be down to just three hens and I will be eagerly awaiting our first egg
