Maranatha! Maranatha!

Growing up I attended Maranatha Chapel in San Diego.  Whenever I would say the name of our church I would get a funny look.  The word Maranatha is a two word Aramaic formula referred to in the New Testament.  The two translations are either, “Our LORD has come” or “Come O LORD”.  The later being a petition of the church to our Christ.  Today, my heart is crying “Maranatha! Come O LORD!”
There are just those days that this world really does not appeal to me.  My heart yearns for the completion of heaven.  Today is one of those days.  There is just so much sadness in this world, both on the small and petty realm as well on the world view.
I am aware that there was never a promise of a problem free world, day, or minute; however I am aware that there is Peace if sought.  Problems are just simply a part of life.  They are inescapable and woven into the very fabric of this fallen world.  In perspective I am en route to heaven, and I need to let the problems and worries fade knowing that in light of eternity they will fade.
My mommy heart will cry, “Maranatha!” every day until we are resting in the heavenly streets, reunited with those that have gone before.

“He tends his flock like a shphard; He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”  -Psalm 32:8

But our citizenship is in heaven.  And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be life his glorious body.”  -Philippians 3:20-21
