Old Friends

img_0571On our way home from San Diego we stopped in Green River, Utah to sleep and when we woke up in the morning my hubby asked me if I wanted to stop in Delta, Colorado to visit a friend of mine.  I had not made any plans to do so but I thought… heck!  I gave her a call and let her know that we would be driving through the i-70 and if we could meet it would be great.  Sure enough she piled her four kiddos in her car and met us at a park in Grand Junction, Colorado.  It was so neat that she was okay with doing that and that she was able to take the time so short notice to meet up with us.  A two-hour break in our drive was nice to get the chance to catch up.  This friend of mine has been a friend since fourth or fifth grade.  We were inseparable for many years.  After we finished Bible college together life went in different directions and we lost contact.  We were trying to remember the last time we saw each other and she remembers seeing me fat and about to pop with my oldest… that would have been seven years ago!  Sakes!  Sure was special to have a last minute play date though with our kids!
